The value inherent in unfinished wood is a major reason that a large number of contractors opt for using it on the jobs they contract. The price is significantly better than the cost of pre-finished planks. As you can see this is another perk you get for choosing this style of flooring. This cost saving can then be passed on to the customer or end consumer if you so choose or it can go toward increasing the bottom line. Another option is for the contractor to offer custom design services to the client based upon the reduced initial cost savings. Either way it is a win-win for both the contractor and the customer when the cost savings is passed along. By creating a unique custom floor, it acts as a life size advertisement for the contractor’s services, as well as, creating an amazing feature to any home. Every person that is awed by the fantastic flooring finish is another potential customer for the contractor you used. Choosing unfinished oak hardwood flooring is definitely a design choice worth considering for your home. Not only will your friends and guests be amazed and envious of your style choices, but your wallet will thank you for the much lighter burden you placed upon it. A custom floor at a reduced price is contractor and customer’s dream come true. So start looking around so that you can find your dram flooring.
The ranch house floor plan was the American Dream in a box from the late 1940s to the mid 1960s. Sliding glass doors, kidney shaped swimming pools and back yard patios created a new informal way of entertaining guests. Though the ranch house floor plan was the embodiment of casual living, most homes of that era lacked architectural details that would make them memorable. By the 1970s, the ranch style house was replaced by the split level home with Colonial or English details. The 1980s saw a reversal of the ranch house floor plan formula that included showy front entries with grand staircases and vaulted ceilings while the back of the house was left almost naked. The only remains of the ranch house floor plan today are the open floor plans, great rooms and hearth kitchens and the current popular trend of an outdoor room. All leftovers from the original ranch style housing era.
This is where the use of natural stones like marble comes into play. These stones, just like wood, have the tendency to bring about the natural ambience within the house. In their polished forms, these stones provide the perfect backdrop for all kinds of decor. The color may depend on the user’s choice, but the use of white in natural stones beats all the other colors in terms of compatibility. The white background on the floor allows the use of any decor in the room. Consider the use of Victorian furniture carved out of wood and polished to perfection. What better place to put it in than on a Carrara White Marble floor that has got the impeccable looks of luxury and suave? The looks might remind you of the white backdrops of an art gallery. You can have paintings in the room or have the log furniture installed. There is something about the use of white marble that brings about a sense of clinical cleanliness and broad spaces in the room.
A floor plan is about space deployment, or more specifically, the space you want (or need) for family members, guests, pets, entertaining and basic household operations (i.e. cooking, dining, laundry, storage, etc.). Furthermore, it is easy to overlook space requirements for many things we take for granted such as hobbies, displaying collections and other family activities. Try to anticipate as many of your family’s needs as possible and expand your floor plan to accommodate your desires.
